The Road I Travel | jumpingjulespoetry | Poetry

“The road I travel is sinking
An avalanche of rubble
My summit draped in thickening fog
An unforgiving path ready to pounce
But yet still I climb
This road shudders with every step
Beckons me towards the perilous edge
Offering an unsympathetic hand
A single flower struggles to bloom
It stands weak but alive
I’m ashamed to leave you behind
Wearily I hike this uphill battle
To a place I know not where or when
But it is the path that has been given to me
And so I climb”
